De Gea signs contract extension with Manchester United

Manchester United have announced that David De Gea has signed a new four year contract with the club.

De Gea failed to move to Real Madrid on a transfer deadline day leading to counter accusations between the two clubs on why the move failed.

After the failed move Manchester United risked losing the talented Spanish keeper for free next year but he has now been tied down for at least four more years or will not be going away for free.

A statement from Manchester United read : David De Gea has signed a new four-year contract at #mufc with an option to extend for a further year.
