Match Report: FC Platinum 3-1 Dynamos

FC Platinum put up a stellar show to dismiss defending champions Dynamos 3-1 convincingly in a Castle Larger Premiership match at Mandava stadium.

It was FC Platinum’s second win over Dembare in the league since gaining promotion to the top flight.

The win moved Platinum into second on the log standings and in a firm position to win their first ever league title and become the first team outside Harare and Bulawayo to win the league title since the 1960s.

Obrey Chirwa who made a suprise appearance after ditching Danish club Hobro IK scored a brace with Gift Belo getting the other goal.

Platinum showed intent from the start utilising the wings, where speed merchants Marshall Mudehwe and Brian Muzondiwa stretched the three man defence of Sydney Linyama, Elisha Muroiwa and Obey Mwerahari allowing center striker Chirwa space to attack from the centre.

Belo opened the scoring in the sixth minute heading in a corner from Elvis Moyo. Takesure Chinyama equalised with a firm header off a Godknows Murwira cross.

Chirwa restored the lead with a long range shot. Dynamos offered little resistance and it was the home side who showed more determination with Chirwa sealing the victory with fourteen minutes to the end, tapping in a cross from Mudehwe.

Starting line ups:
