Dynamos emphatically thumped Whawha 5-1 at Rufaro stadium this afternoon, in a castle lager Premier Soccer League match.
The defending champions lost 3-1 away to Platinum at Mandava on Saturday and that defeat dented their moral but today they looked a pumped up side ready for the kill.
Dembare started the match strongly and would eventually take the lead in the 13th minute courtesy of a Mushure special, the visitors conceded a free kick at the edge of the box and the left back made sure by placing the ball in top corner.
The goal spurred Dembare further into life and Roderick Mutuma shot straight at Chakwana who was in goals for Whawha and the goalkeeper could only parry it into the direction of Ronald Chitiyo who made him pay as he put in a thunderous shot for his sides second goal.
It was raining goals at Rufaro and two minutes later a hopeless ball was pumped up front and it looked like the Whawha defence had it covered but Takesure Chinyama bullied his way past two defenders and got control of the ball before placing it beyond the reach of Chakwana to make it three nil for Dembare.
The goals surely shook them and the Prison guards started to panic and in the 21st minute Gift Kwaramba put the ball into his own net under little pressure to make it four nil in favour of Dembare.
Nelson Maziwisa reminded everyone that he was once a lethal striker when he cut in from the right flank before placing the ball at Mukuruva’s near post to get a consolation for his team with just over 10mins left for both teams to get a breather.
Three minutes later Dembare retired their four goal cushion as young Murwira put in a 30 meter pile driver to send his team leading 5-1 into the break.
The second half lacked much action except for the misses by Roderick Mutuma who had a frustrating afternoon in front of goal and at the end of the match Dynamos coach was happy with the response.
