Gumede: Media to blame for some Highlanders problems

Highlanders CEO Ndumiso Gumede claims the media is partly to blame for some of the club’s current problems.
Highlanders have had a very poor season and risk getting relegated if bad results continue.

Highlanders are in 10th with 28 points from 24 games only six points from the relegation zone.
Not even a change in technical staff has led to better results.
They have been calls by fans ,former players and even club benefactor Tshinga Dube for the Peter Dube lead executive to resign however club CEO has pointed fingers at the media instead.

Speaking at the Highlanders press conference yesterday afternoon Gumede is quoted by the Chronicle saying ‘It’s unfortunate we are being shot down by our own people, some of who pretend to support the team and they are in this room. Such reports make our sponsors (Banc ABC) uneasy added Gumede.
Gumede went on to claim that despite the poor season Banc ABC were keen on a contract extension with the club.
Highlanders take on Dongo this weekend in a must win game at Barbourfields.
