Mapeza eying return to African Safari with FC Platinum

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza wants to return to the African Safari and has shifted focus to the title race.

The Platinum miners take on Whawha today at Mandava Stadium where they seek to maintain pressure on log leaders Chicken Inn.

“We really need to go back to Africa because it is good for the boys because they get the much needed exposure. Look at what happened when we played in Africa the last time almost 8 players got contracts abroad.

“Therefore, we need to win our games so that we see where we would be at the end of the season. It is still anyone’s game and I hope we will finish strongly at the end of the season,” said Mapeza skirting about the championship race.

FC Platinum lost by a goal to nil in the reverse fixture at Ascot and will be hoping to overturn the result.

The platinum miners were were knocked out in the second stage of the Caf Confederations Cup by Tanzania’s Young Africans and will be hoping to win the league to be part of the African Safari.
