Warriors camp fails to start due to financial challenges

The Zimbabwe national team is expected to start camp in Bulawayo today for their CHAN qualifier against Lesotho at Barbourfields Stadium after the squad failed to do so yesterday as planned.

Financial challenges affecting ZIFA have caused the delay with head coach Callisto Pasuwa expressing his concern over the delays.

Pasuwa said poor preparations would cost the Warriors dearly and they could not afford to underestimate Lesotho as African football is changing rapidly.

The CHAN tournament is for locally based players only and this if the final round of qualifiers and will take place over two legs.

ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela said they were expecting a full house in camp by today despite the challenges that had rocked the start of preparations .‘We expect to have a full house by tomorrow”, he said

Meanwhile the gate charges for the match have been revealed. “Gate charges are USD$ 3 the rest of the ground, $5 for wings and VIP stand $10.

Gwesela also appealed to Bulawayo residents and the nation to rally behind the Warriors. “We appeal to Bulawayo residents and the nation at large to come in their large numbers and support our national team,” said Gwesela.
