Highlanders question Easycall cup match venue

Highlanders CEO Ndumiso Gumede has expressed their disappointment in having to play the Easy Call cup quarterfinal match against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium.

Gumede believes the match should have been played at Barbourfields Stadium especially taking into consideration that the tournament has never been played in Bulawayo.

Highlanders are thus set to play the match in protest

We aren’t happy that we return to Mandava Stadium Gumede is quoted saying by the Chronicle. The cup has never been held in Bulawayo and I feel sometimes following resolutions sheeply does not help. All Bulawayo teams are playing away, this match should have been held in Bulawayo.

The tournament presents Highlanders with an opportunity to finish the season on a positive note with some silverware .Highlanders has struggled in the league for most of the season and were knocked out early in the Chibuku Super Cup.

But going past FC Platinum will not be an easy feat with Mapeza’side being one of the most inform teams at the moment.

The last meeting  between the two at Mandava had a lot of controversy with the match ending in a 2-2 draw and violence erupting between the fans.
