Paul Scholes slams Man Utd striker Anthony Martial

Paul Scholes has criticised Manchester United’s Anthony Martial for not showing enough care.

In the wake of United’s 0-0 draw with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night, former Red Devils star Scholes spoke negatively of 19-year-old striker Martial who appeared to look disinterested at stages in the Champions League encounter.

Scholes also suggested that perhaps United boss Louis van Gaal needs to tap into the winter market in order to bring to Old Trafford a player with better qualities than the talented youngster possesses.

“He doesn’t look bothered if he misses a chance. He doesn’t look bothered if he scores a goal,” Scholes said of Martial on BT Sport.

“As a centre forward, all you live for is scoring goals, all you want to do is score goals.

“He doesn’t look like one of those players to me and maybe they need to go into the transfer market in January for one of them.”
