Report:Highlanders beat Tsholotsho ,Flame Lilly relegated

Highlanders continued with their good run of form when they beat Tsholotso 2-1 at Barbourfields stadium this afternoon.

Highlanders lived up to their promise of not giving Tsholotsho any favours as the pressed from kick off.

Despite their dominance in the first half Highlanders had to wait till the 35th minute when veteran Ralph Matema scored his 3rd goal in two games to give Bosso a deserved lead.

Four minutes later things got worse for Tsholotsho when Simon Munawa scored capitalising on a defence mix up to make it two for Highlanders.

Halftime came with Highlanders looking comfortable. Tsholotsho came back a rejuvenated pressure and an attack so them earn a free kick just outside the box. Veteran winger Joel Luphahla stepped and scored with a low free kick to put Tsholotsho back into the game .

Tsholotsho continued to cause problems and forced another free kick minutes later .This time Luphahla’s free kick just went over.

In the 60th minute Nixon Gama went very close  when his effort just went wide from an acute angle.

Highlanders though continued to be a threat and substitute Obadiah Tarumbwa had a great chance to score soon after coming on but didn’t make it count.

Chances were few after that and Highlanders had done enough to secure the three points. Tsholotsho though are still in it after Buffaloes lost 2-1 to Triangle despite taking the lead.

In other games Flame Lilly were relegated  after drawing 1-1 with another relegated team Whawha while How Mine’s poor run continued with 1-0 loss to Dongo Sawmills.
