Danny Phiri target League and Cup double

Reigning 2015 Soccer Star of the year and Chicken Inn Captain Danny ‘Deco’ Phiri has set his eyes on completing a league and cup double as they prepare to take on fellow Bulawayo rivals Highlanders in the Netone Easycall cup final.

Chicken Inn thrashed Caps United to book a spot in the final while Highlanders got the better of bitter rivals Dynamos.

Chicken Inn still basking in the glory of the league title have come face to face with a chance to get another silverware and Danny Phiri senses possibility.

Chicken Inn will have a psychological advantage after having edged Bosso 2-1 and 2-3 to complete a league double.

“The boys are very much relaxed and focused on the job at hand. It is our wish to end the season on a high but we have to be at our best to claim the silverware from them (Highlanders),” said Phiri to the club’s website.

Danny also added that they know that Highlanders will come at them and past results will not play any significant role as the match on Sunday is a different cattle of fish .

‘We know we have beaten them twice this season but that does not guarantee a win on Sunday too, they will come all out for revenge least should they know it is a different ball game altogether,’ said the Soccer star of the year

On the other hand a resurgent Bosso will not be easy to beat after having been on a purple patch picking important wins including a morale boosting win over Dynamos.

Highlanders will however miss the services of Eric Mudzingwa and Obadiah Tarumbwa due to suspensions. Chicken Inn will have non of that with all their soccer stars finalists raring to go. Goalkeeper of the year Elvis Chipezeze, the league’s second best goal scorer Edmore Chirambadare and in form Clemence Matawu together with Soccer star Danny Phiri will form the backbone of the League Champions.
