Chelsea win as Norwich inflict defeat on Man Utd

Chelsea started the post Mourinho era with a 3-1 win over Sunderland in the English Premiership yesterday while Norwich stunned Manchester United.

Results ultimately lead to the sacking of the “special one” but Chelsea players responded to life after Mourinho with a good performance.

Chelsea went ahead as soon as the 5th minute when through Ivanoic and eight minute were 2 up when Pedro scored.

In the second half Chelsea started well again and were rewarded with a penaly in the 50th minute which Oscar converted. Borini gave Sunderland a conosolation after some poor defending but Chelsea had done enough to secure all three points.

At Old Trafford the pressure piled up Louis Van Gaal after being handed a shock defeat by Norwich.

Jerome gave Norwich the lead before Tettey double the lead just after halftime. Anthony Martial pulled one back in the 66th minute but Manchester United could not stage a come back. The result see Manchester United slip into 5th and more questions regarding Van Gaal’s future.

In other games Leicester continued their dream start to the season and made sure they will be on top of the league come Christmas when they beat Everton 3-2 in a tightly contested match.

Mahrez continued with his fine form scoring from the penalty spot twice before Okazaki scored the winner in the 69th minute. Romen Lukaku had levelled matters in the first half while Mirallas scored a late goal in the 89th minute.
