The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has apologised for the recent events that saw Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa fired and then reinstated.

Pasuwa was fired on Thursday last week and ZIFA through their vice president Omega Sibanda had also made allegations of unprofessionalism by Pasuwa and his agent Gibson Mahachi who they accused of lacking integrity and having a conflict of interest with the national team

Pasuwa and Mahachi had stated they would only re-engage ZIFA if the association apologised for misleading the nation, which they have now done.

A statement from ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa read: The Zimbabwe Football Association would like to unreservedly apologise  to members of the football fraternity, members of the ZIFA congress, players, Coach Mr Kalisto Pasuwa, his manager Mr Gibson Mahachi, the Warriors technical team, members of the media and all interested stakeholders for the unfortunate disturbances that characterised the Senior national team’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) preparations.

The Zimbabwe Football Association Executive committee would like to reaffirm its commitment to service the beautiful game of football in its entirety in line with the mandate bestowed to us by the ZIFA congress.

ZIFA said they would now be working on a contract for Pasuwa and preparations for the CHAN 2016 Preparations would re-start immediately.
