CHAN: Zambia defender warry of Zimbabwe threat

Zambian defender has Christopher Munthali has singled out Zimbabwe as their biggest threat at CHAN 2016 in Rwanda in group D.

Zambia is in group D and will square off against rivals Zimbabwe, Uganda and Mali.

In an interview with Supersport, Munthali says the neighbourly rival with Zimbabwe makes the game tough since both teams plays a similar brand of football but still concedes that his team is better.

“I think Zimbabwe will give us problems because we have met several times and we play almost the same kind of football, but I think we are better than them,” Munthali said.

The two teams will meet in a trans-Zambezi Group D derby in their opening fixture at the tournament on January 19.

Meanwhile, 2012 winning AFCON captai Christopher Katongo who received a surprise call up to the Zambian squad togethe with Isaac Chansa will captain Zambia at the 2016 African Nations Championship (Chan) in Rwanda.
