Chiyangwa reassures Warriors

ZIFA President Philip Chiyangwa has pledged full support for the Warriors as they prepare for 2016 CHAN scheduled for Rwanda next week.

Chiyangwa braved the wet weather to visit the Warriors at Gateway High School training ground where the senior team was holding its training session.

Chiyangwa challenged the team to move a step further their feat in the last tournament to reach the final. He assured the troops that all expenses will be catered for and they should just concentrate on the task at hand.

The President was quoted by the Herald saying his board is putting things in order to ensure success ahead.

“This is the national team, this is the team for the country. As they prepare, Government is also interested to see success and I think, working with Government, we have made serious commitment and once there are any problems that may arise we will certainly help our players to live well, play well and come back home with a better result,” said Chiyangwa.

Chiyangwa also revealed that players and the technical team are set to start getting paid today.

The Warriors training is already in full swing ahead of the tournament set to start on January 16 and the coach Pasuwa who appears to have put the past behind him said the visit by the Association leadership was a morale booster for the team.
