Border strikers seek new coach

Newly promoted PSL side Border Strikers will be forced to replace their coach Never Malunga as it has emerged that he does not meet the minimum qualifications required in PSL.

It is a norm that newly promoted sides use their coaches who helped them gain promotion but the Beitbridge side are in the job market in search of a coach to replace their hero who aided them to gain promotion.

The minumum requirement for one to coach in the topflight is a Caf C license, but Malunga only possesses a Zimbabwe Coaches’ Association Level Four qualification.

In an interview with The Newsday Border Strikers’ secretary-general Gibson Makanda confirmed the developments but concurred that they will prefer a local person who knows the culture of the team.

“Our coach, does not have the qualifications the authorities want. If we are hiring a new coach to come and work with Malunga we prefer someone from our community.” Said Makanda.

Border strikers joined the league using the Central Region Division one ticket and will bring PSL to the border town of Beitbridge.
