Harry Redknapp was in jovial mood on BT Sport programme Fletch and Sav, revealing how Benjani ended up at Manchester City

The former Portsmouth boss told the story about selling Benjani when he was at Pompey despite the Zimbabwean striker not wanting to leave the club.

It was January 2008 and Benjani had already scored 12 goals that season, prompting newly-rich Manchester City to bid £9.5 million for him, an offer Redknapp couldn’t refuse.
