Government impressed with ZIFA and Chiyangwa

Minister of Sports and Recreation Makhosini Hlongwane has expressed satisfaction with the progress being made at ZIFA.

Despite an initial controversial start, ZIFA through its president Philip Chiyangwa’s seem to be getting things right as far as the national team is concerned.

“In the past I was commenting a lot, but when I do not comment, it means I am happy with what is going on Hlongwane said at a luncheon held for the squad this week.

“There is good publicity in the papers about Zifa and football can help the economy as it is an industry

The debt owed to former Warriors head coach Tom Saintfiet is now being paid up while the Warriors preparations for CHAN 2016 have been going well with players and the technical team getting their payments.

Hlongwane revealed that ZIFA and the government would soon meet Zifa to share ideas on how they could improve and contribute to the economy, particularly through employment.

“We want Zifa to look at how the game contributes to the economy. We want Zifa to maintain the current flow of things, we are happy with the work that Chiyangwa and his team are doing added Hlongwane.
