Zimbabwean internationals light up ABSA Premiership

It was a good scoring day for Zimbabwean internationals in the ABSA Premiership yesterday with four players all getting on the score sheet.

Willard Katsande lead the way when he opened the scoring for Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby. However Orlando Pirates got themselves back in the game in the second half and the match ended in a 1 all draw.

Kingston Nkhatha was on target for Supersport United when they beat Free States Stars at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. Supersport who parted ways with Gordon Igesund earlier in the week had Kaitano Tembo in charge as new head coach Stuart Baxter is yet to sort out his permit papers. Nkhatha did not disappoint as he scored in the 15th minute his first goal since October.

Khama Billiat scored in Mamelodi Sundowns’ 3-2 win over bottom placed Maritzburg United. Billiat scored just after half time after Hlompho Kekana had scored in the first half.

In form Evans Rusike pulled one back with seven minutes to go before Brian Onyango scored a second for Maritzburg in added time but it was too little too late.

Sundowns maintained their top spot and are now three points ahead of second placed Mpumalanga Black Aces.
