EPL: Leicester hammer Manchester City to go six clear

Leicester City continued their remarkable title push with a 3-1 win over fellow contenders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

A Robert Huth brace and a well taken Mahrez strike gave Leicester all three points.

The visitors were in front as soon as the 3rd minute when Huth scored after being found by Mahrez’s free kick.

Leicester continued to cause more anxious moments in the first half with their pace and attacking prowess on display.

At halftime Leicester’s had the advantage with the 1-0 lead by with City very much in the game.

Three minutes after the break Algerian international Mahrez gave Leicester a 2-0 lead when skipped past Otamendi and Demichelis before unleashing a shot that beat Joe Hart it goal  for City.

On the 60th minute Leicester knocked the final nail when Huth scored with a looping header to make the score line 3-0.

With three minutes to go Sergio Aguero pulled one back with a header. Minutes later City could have had a second after a back pass by the Leicester defence but Aguero couldn’t make it count.

The win sees Leicester open up a six point gap at the top ahead of other games this weekend.
