UCL: Man City pick vital away win, PSV and Atletico draw

Manchester City have taken a big step towards reaching the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the first time in their history courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Dynamo Kiev at the Olympic Stadium.

Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Yaya Toure were all on target as City made light of its recent poor form.

City had led 2-0 at the interval before Vitaliy Buyalskiy gave Dynamo hope with a deflected effort.

But Toure’s wonderful curling effort settled the contest and leaves City very much in control going into the second leg.

Ten-man PSV Eindhoven drew 0-0 with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League clash in the Netherlands.

Atletico had the better chances throughout the contest, but PSV, who finished with 10 men following a 68th-minute red card for Gaston Pereiro, managed to keep a clean sheet ahead of the second leg in Madrid next month.
