Uriri : CAPS United’s goal is to be commercially viable

CAPS United’s top priority is to commercialise the club to make it a viable entity says Chairman Lewis Uriri.

Uriri made the comments while on ZBC’s Game Plan yesterday evening. CAPS United have been undergoing changes in structure and management as part of positioning themselves to be a success both on and off the table.

Previous owner Twine Phiri has also left the club.

The Green Machine has also been very active in the transfer season bringing in players such as Archford Gutu, Dennis Dauda, Tafadzwa Rusike.

“We are looking at commercialising football said Uriri. “Our goal is goal to make money out of football.

Asked on their title ambitions Uriri says their vision was to clinch the league title by 2019 and winning it this season would be a bonus.

However despite the vision Uriri says they expected CAPS United to be very competitive and compete for honours this season.

Meanwhile the club is set to begin their tour of Mozambique this weekend. According to CAPS United they will participate in a four team tournament with some of Mozambique’s top sides as part of their pre-season preparations.

A tour of South Africa is also on the cards where they are set to meet Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits in friendlies.
