The Mighty Warriors have beaten Tanzania 2-1 in an African Women Championship first leg qualifier played this afternoon.
The Mighty Warriors came back from a goal down to beat the Twiga Stars at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salam.
Tanzania took the lead in the 19th minute before the Mighty Warriors got the equaliser a few minutes through Erina Jeke.
Zimbabwe got the winner in the second half taking advantage of a goalkeeping error by Tanzania with Jeke scoring completing her brace.
The result sees the Mighty Warriors head into the second leg with the advantage. The Mighty Warriors who are set to grace the Olympics Game late this year are using the qualifiers as preparations for the global tournament as well.
