Kamusoko scores as Yanga win in CAF Champions League

Rwanda champions APR were dealt a huge blow to their continental ambitions losing 2-1 at home to Tanzanian outfit Young Africans in the first leg of the 1/16 th round on Saturday at the Amahoro Stadium.

The military side conceded two goals courtesy of Juma Abdul in the first half and Thabani Kamusoko after the break whilst Patrick Sibomana got a consolation for the former in the closing stages.

‘Yanga’ as the Tanzanians are nicknamed broke the deadlock after 20 minutes through Juma after Abdul Rwatubyaye fouled striker Amiss Tambwe. Juma scored with long range strike from 32-metres before Zimbabwean International Kamusoko doubled the lead on 73 minutes capitalising on a blunder by the homers backline.

Sibomana gave the home fans a reason to smile with the consolatory strike in added-on time, but it was little enough to save new APR coach Nizar Khanfir from tasting his first defeat barely days after joining the capital-based side.
