Pasuwa’s changes lead to victory

Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa was heavily criticised following the Warriors draw with Swaziland in Mbabane.

Pasuwa tactics and formation were questioned and the Warriors largely thanks to the exploits of Tatenda Mukuruva got a point away in a tough game.

Though mostly fair some of the criticism towards Pasuwa went over the top with some even suggesting he be fired!

However to his credit and showing characteristics of a good coach Pasuwa made wholesome changes to his squad making a total of 5 in the return leg at the Nationals Sport Stadium.

The changes paid dividends the Warriors midfield with Netherlands based Marvellous Nakamba looked more fluid and creative. The drafting of Hardlife Zvirekwi bought more stability to defence while the strike force of Musona and Mushekwi showed a lot of promise in the first half. Even the threat posed by Kuda Mahachi and Marshall Mudehwe( in the first half) was an improvement going forward.

Pasuwa made a very good call to leave Billiat for the second half after the player looked tired on Friday and the move was a game changer .Billiat’s introduction in the second half brought more precision in the Warriors attack as he got the assist for the second goal while he wrapped up the win with a good finish for the 4th

As a result Pasuwa’s key changes made all the difference as the Warriors took control of the AFCON qualification destiny.

Credit to Mr Pasuwa and congratulations to the Warriors.
