Bob 92 ZIFA Cup organisers slammed

ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa is not amused after the Bob 92 ZIFA Cup failed to take place on Sunday.

Dynamos refused to travel to Bulawayo for the first leg accusing the organisers of the competition of being dishonest. Dynamos are yet to receive their prize money from last year when they beat CAPS United 1-0 .

Highlanders have also not received their money:

The organisers had also failed to tell the teams how much they would be getting for this year’s edition and were yet to finalise the sponsors that would be coming on board.

However Chiyangwa says the tournament shall only continue to be held if ZIFA organises it. Charles Mabika and Stan Kasukuwere have been the organisers of the tournament that is meant to be part of celebrations for President Robert Mugabe’s birthday.

The competition is now likely to be scheduled for the later this year.

To make matters worse the match was set to be screened live on Supersport and the pay tv broadcaster had already travelled and set up in Bulawayo for the game.

Supersport are the official broadcast partner of the Premier Soccer League and according to sources are not happy with the latest episode. Last year a game between How Mine and CAPS United failed to take place after CAPS players boycotted a premier league match over non-payment of bonuses and salaries.
