Kenya qualifies for AWCON for the first time in History

The Kenya Women’s team qualified for the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations for the first time ever on the away goal rule after 1-1 draw with Algeria in Nairobi on Tuesday.

The Starlets had held the Lady Fennecs to a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Algiers last Friday and a second half equalizer from substitute Cherish Avillia was enough for the host to cancel Naima Bouhani’s opener on 23 minutes.

Below are the teams that qualified fo the Africa Women Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon later this year. The teams will join the hosts Cameroon making it an 8 team tournament.
