Antipas says Independence Cup win is a season booster

Chicken Inn head coach Joey Antipas has hailed their first Independence Cup title after beating Highlanders 2-1 on Sunday.

Highlanders took the lead through Bruce Kangwa but Mitchell Katsvairo and Obadiah Tarumbwa gave the Gamecocks victory.

Chicken Inn have started their league title defence well with two wins in their first two games.

Speaking after the game a delighted Antipas said, “It was a hard victory, I think we deserved it. We struggled initially in the early stages, but we eventually got going and won the game.

“It’s our first trophy this year and it’s a boost for us at the beginning of the season, it’s good for the boy added Antipas.
