Defiant Silva awaits fate?

Will Dynamos coach Paulo Jorge Silva be sacked?

That is the question on many football fans across the country have.

The Portuguese coach was given a 3 match ultimatum and tasked at amassing nothing less than 9 points. Despite crossing the first hurdle against new boys Mutare City, Silva failed to cross the second hurdle yesterday against a much organised Caps United going down 1-0.

The temperamental coach was forced to finish off the match from the stands after being sent off for constantly complaining to the 4th official in the dying minutes of the came.

Speaking to the Herald after the match, Silva confessed ignorance of any ultimatum insisting that he is still at the helm and is now focusing on the next match.

“Who gave me this (ultimatum)? If it’s the executive, so ask the executive. I don’t know anything about that. I am going to work tomorrow (today) because we have another game next Sunday,” said Silva.

“We lost the game because of a mistake. I want to say sorry to the supporters because we had wanted to give them the derby but it was not possible.

“My players did everything they could but CAPS United won.”

Calls for Silva sacking have grown louder with the recent ZIFA President Philip Chiyangwa concerned with Dynamos recent slump in form and has called for the axing of Paulo Silva saying when Dembare don’t perform it affects the whole league.
