Darikwa’s Burnley promoted into English Premier League

Tendayi Darikwa a Warriors potential will play in the famous English Premier League after his team Burnley narrowly beat Queens Park Rangers on Monday.

Burnley took a 1-0 lead over Queens Park Rangers, and the Clarets held on to make sure their absence from the Premier League was a mere season long.

The win gave Burnley 90 points with one match to play. With Middlesbrough and Brighton & Hove Albion sitting on 88 points and playing each other on the final day of the season, only one winner can pass the Clarets.

Darikwa however did not take part in the match as he was an unused substitute. Darikwa though had a pivotal role in Burnley’s campaign to ensure a quick return to the Premier League.

The talented England born defender qualifies to play for Zimbabwe by heritage and has indicated willingness to represent the Warriors. He has been called up to the national team but is still to take up the offer.

He will join only Bruce Grobelaar, Peter Ndlovu and Benjani Mwaruwari as the Zimbabwean players who have played in English top flight league.
