ZPSL Saturday Preview: FC Platinum targert 5/5

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is set to continue this weekend with 3 matches lined for Saturday whilst the remaining 5 matches will be played on Sunday.

Early pacesetters FC Platinum will this afternoon be involved in a tricky encounter against Harare City at Mandava Stadium. The Zvishavane based Platinum miners are the only team with a perfect record having amased 12 points from their first 4 matches.

However, Harare City will certainly pose some serious threat to the record having a formidable team with attacking powess. Last weekend emphatic 4-1 drubbing of Hwange will be a morale booster for the sunshine boys.

Not to say FC Platinum will be push overs, the Norman Mapeza coached side have presented themselves as serious title contenders.

FC Platinum boasts of a team that is compact with players who have been together for more than 3 seasons. It appears Mapeza’s trust in youngsters is finally paying off.

Elsewhere, defending League Champions Chicken Inn will have a bit taste of what it will feel like to play without their title winning coach Joey Antipas when they host new boys Bulawayo City at Luveve Stadium.

Chicken Inn will go to the match seeking redemption after having picked their first defeat last weekend – a 1 nil loss to ZPC Kariba.

On the other hand newboys Bulawayo City have had a remarkable start to the season and will cry foul over questionable refereeing decisions last weekend against Highlanders denying them a win but ultimately drawing level 1-1.

Antipas who is due to join South African NFD side Amazulu will be in South Africa this weekend in a familiarisation effort at the new side.

The last Saturday match will pit Tsholotsho FC up against New boys Ngezi Platinum at White City Stadium.
