Mighty Warriors lose against South Africa in friendly

The Zimbabwe Mighty Warriors narrowly lost 1 nil against Banyana Banyana of South Africa in an International friendly played in South Africa.

Both nations who are Africa’s representatives at the Rio 2016 Olympic games to be played in Brazil were using the match as preparation for the games.

The Mighty Warriors started the game on the backfoot with South Africa attacking right from the onset. However the defence stood firm.

Zimbabwe could have taken the lead in the 25th minute but the striker shot wide failing to punish a defensive blunder by Banyana Banyana.

The teams went into the break level.

South Africa thought they had opened the scoring 10 minutes after the break but Mollo was ruled offside.

Refiloe Jane however made it count 5 minutes later as South Africa continued to pile the pressure putting cheers to the sizable crowd that attended the match.

The Mighty Warriors tried to come back but The South African defence was unyielding hanging on to a 1 nil win.
