Malawi still hold qualification hope ahead of Warriors clash

Malawi believe still have a fighting chance of qualify for AFCON 2017 and will give Zimbabwe a tough time at the National Sport Stadium tomorrow.

The Flames arrived in the country yesterday afternoon and are optimistic despite anchoring Group L with two points while the Warriors lead with 8 points.

Speaking on arrival veteran midfielder Joseph Kamwendo who clinched the 2005 Soccer Star of the Year in Zimbabwe said they will give their best.

“It’s good to be back said Kamwendo this is my second home.

“We still have a chance of qualifying mathematically so we are still in it ,if we win against Zimbabwe and our last game at home we can still qualify he added.

The Malawi squad also includes former CAPS United midfielder Gerald Phiri junior who suggested that there were the underdogs and the pressure was on the Warriors to win the game.
