CAPS United boycott training over outstanding salaries

CAPS United players boycotted training yesterday over outstanding salaries and bonuses.

The Green Machine have had a good start to the season and have been enjoying more stability following the takeover by Farai Jere but yesterday’s event were of concern amid fears of the return to the dark days.

CAPS United CEO Cuthbert Chitima was quick to point out that players had been told that their outstanding dues would be paid today and assured that they would honour what they are owed.

“We are operating in a difficult economic environment, but as a club, we have always tried to ensure that the welfare of our players is taken care of, without fail Chitima told the Herald.

“We might delay here and there, but we are an institution that always honour its promises and after all, we are not the only organisation that has been delaying the payment of salaries because of the tough times that we are living in he added.

CAPS United are currently in second spot on the ZPSL log table two points behind log leaders FC Platinum after 9 games.
