Four things picked up from the “Battle of Zimbabwe” Part 2

Highlanders completed the double over great rivals Dynamos at the weekend as they came back from behind to clinch a 2-1 win, here are five things picked up from the match.

Peter Muduhwa impresses again

The exciting Highlanders defender was by far the man of the match as he impressed once again at the heart of the Bosso defence. Muduhwa showed great composure and handled such a massive well. Muduhwa capped a fine afternoon by setting up Ralph Matema for the winner. If Muduhwa continues with his level a Warriors call up could be coming quite soon

Erol Akbay the specialist in beating Dynamos

Erol Akbay-Highlanders

It’s only his first season as head coach of Highlanders but the Dutchman has ended all the winless streaks Dynamos had over the club before his arrival a feat many before him had failed to achieve. Though affected by key players leaving during the transfer window recent performances suggest Akbay’s has stabilised things again. With six points behind leaders FC Platinum Highlanders are still in the title race.

Dynamos title ambitions almost over

Dynamos will now need somewhat of a miracle to win the league title. Dembare are a massive 12 points behind FC Platinum with only 21 points left to play for and will need to go on a winning streak till the end of the season and hope all three clubs above them drop points something that seems quite unlikely.

Fans can behave!

After a week of condemning violence and putting measures  in place to reduce violence the biggest match in the land was relatively peacefully. Though a few skirmishes were reported there was generally good behaviour among both sets of fans and proof that it can be done and football can be the biggest winner at the end of the day.
