One player most Highlanders fans will love to hate got to be Masimba Mambare!
The talented winger has been labeled by many Highlanders faithfuls as a traitor following his one infamous move away from the Bulawayo giants crossing the great divide joining Harare giants Dynamos.
Mambare left the Highlanders team at the peak of his career and being the shining beam for Bosso. He however has not realised his form at Dynamos being hogged by a number of injuries.
The two sides meet on Sunday at Babourfields Stadium in the battle of Zimbabwe part II with Highlanders feeling the better of the two Zimbabwean giants following their 2 nil win in the Part I of the battle – breaking a 10 year old jinx to win a League match against their bitterest rivals since 2006.
Dynamos fans will look upon Mambare who is the club’s top performer and the current top scorer for Dynamos this season. However the player seems unfazed by the prospects of the blood and thunder encounter.
In an interview with the Newsday, Mambare said he is not putting himself under presure but will just focus on winning the game.
“It will be a very emotional match,” Mambare said.
“Obviously, when you play against your previous team, you always have a point to prove. Although I want to prove a point, I’m not putting myself under pressure. I’m feeling relaxed and the team is in high spirits. Everyone is looking forward to the match. It’s a Zimbabwe derby.”he added.
