Two more Africans elected to FIFA council

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has elected Almamy Kabele Camara of Guinea and Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi to represent Africa on the reformed FIFA Council .

The election was done at the extraordinary general meeting of CAF in Cairo which was attended by FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

The 54 member associations of CAF were involved in the voting process with each association given two votes.

Camara clinched 37 votes in his favour while Nyantakyi beat Madagascan FA head Ahmed by one  vote.

The two join CAF President Issa Hayatou (Cameroon), Hani Abo Rida (Egypt), Constant Omari (DR Congo), Tarek Bouchamaoui (Tunisia) and Lydia Nsekera (Burundi) as the Africans on the FIFA Council.
