FC Platinum through to Chibuku Super Cup final

FC Platinum booked their place in the Chibuku Super Cup final with a 3-0 victory over Harare City at Mandava Stadium this afternoon.

FC Platinum showed their intentions very early as they created a number of chances in the first ten minutes and were only to be denied by Harare City goalkeeper Tafadzwa Dube.

There was drama in the 30th minute when play stopped briefly with Harare City head coach Moses Chunga furious after a number of their balls were being deflated by FC Platinum fans.

FC Platinum took the lead minutes later with Rodwell Chinyengetere controlling well before scoring.

In the 38th minute play was stopped again this time for a longer period as Harare City complained again with all their balls now deflated. The stoppage saw police manage to arrest the culprit a FC Platinum female fan.

Halftime came with FC Platinum still leading 1-0.

Harare City came from break pressing in search of the equaliser.Ronald Chitiyo came quite close as he hit the crossbar in the 68th minute.

In the 78th minute substitute Charles Sibanda added a second when the punished the Harare City defence after they failed to deal with a long ball.

Four minutes later Marshall Mudehwe beat the offside trap and set himself through on goal before beating Dube to score the third.

FC Platinum will now meet the winner between Highlanders and Ngezi Platinum who play at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
