CAPS United march on while Tsholotsho upset Highlanders

CAPS United marched on towards the league title while Highlanders received a massive blow when they were beaten by Tsholotsho.

CAPS United needed only a minute to score against Harare City with Leonard Tsipa opening the scoring just after kickoff.

CAPS United dominated play and could have added more but Tsipa’s strike was enough to grab crucial maximum points that gives them a two point cushion at the top of the table with two matches left to play. CAPS United are now on 58 points two ahead of FC Platinum who beat Chapung 2-0.

At Ascot stadium Tarisai Rukanda and Walter Musona goals saw FC Platinum win their first game at Ascot Stadium in the top flight.

After a goalless first half Rukanda scored four minutes after the restart. Musona then made victory certain in the 73rd minute after a defensive error by Chapungu.

Tsholotsho handed Highlanders a 2-1 defeat that almost ends their hopes of clinching league title.Nixon Gama was the hero for Tsholotsho scoring in the 17th minute then doubling the lead in the 50th minute.

Ralph Matema pulled one back for Highlanders but it was too little too late for Bosso. The win sees Tsholotsho boost their chances of surviving and climb above Mutare City after the win.

At Baobab stadium it was one way traffic as Ngezi Platinum thrashed Hwange 3-0.Donald Teguru,Kenneth Bulaji and Terrence Dzukamanja were on target for Ngezi Platinum.
