Chibuku Super Cup Final: The “Little Silver” plate

Platinum is a chemical element with symbol Pt and atomic number 78. It is a dense, malleable, ductile, highly unreactive, precious, gray-white transition metal. Its name is derived from the Spanish term platina, which is literally translated into “little silver”. And its Silverware today in Zimbabwe for the Platinum sides in the Chibuku Super Cup.

Its all to play for this afternoon as the giant Platinum miners in Zimbabwe lock horns in the Chibuku Super Cup final set for Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro. The winner walks away with $75000 prize money and the sole ticket to represent Zimbabwe at the CAF Confederation Cup.

Still in the hunt for a Premiership League title FC Platinum will today put themselves in position for a cup and league double when they lock horns with Premier League debutants Ngezi Platinum. They sit in position 2 just a point behind Caps United with 2 league games to play.

FC Platinum will fancy their chances for a second Chibuku glory having claimed the trophy in its inauguration back in 2014. The Norman Mapeza have been impressive all season long and will bank on several of their stars who have been impressive.

On the other hand, Ngezi Platinum will not be any push overs. The Tonderai Ndiraya coached side which eliminated high flying Highlanders on the way to the final also have an exciting blend of youth and experience. They have in their ranks Patson Jaure, Edgar Tapera, Walter Mukanga and Washington Pakamisa.

But no doubt the match promises to be a thriller. Which team are you backing to take glory?
