They say its better late than never as the Mighty Warriors host South Africa in an International friendly in preparation of the 2016 AWCON set for later this month in Cameroon.
The Zimbabwe women’s soccer team has endured a somewhat demoralising preparation hogged by false starts and inactivity due to lack of funding.
Their South African counterparts who are also preparing for the same tournament arrived in the country today and have already held their training session at the match venue – The giant national Sports Stadium. Ironically the two Southern African teams are also in the same group alongside Egypt and the hosts Cameroon at the tournament.
The cheapest ticket has been pegged at $1 for the rest of the ground, $3 and $5.
The 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations will be the 12th edition of the Africa Women Cup of Nations, the biennial international football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the women’s national teams of Africa. The tournament will be held in Cameroon between 19 November and 3 December 2016.
The other group consists of Mali, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
