Chitembwe pays tribute to CAPS United players after clinching title

CAPS United head coach Lloyd Chitembwe had paid tribute to his players after they won the Premier League title by beating Chapungu 1-0 at Ascot stadium.

It’s Chitembwe’s first major piece of silverware as a coach and the second overall having won it as a player.

“First of all I give glory to God. Special mention goes to these players. We have had difficult times both on and off the field. But they showed great perseverance and character.

“I am privileged to have them. I have been a small part of the system and credit must go to these boys.

“It was an exciting game but it was not easy against Chapungu but we did it.

“We have been waiting for so long as a club, too long for a club the size of CAPS United but have now done it.

“To the supporters I want to thank them for the massive support they gave us and always being behind us ,added Chitembwe.
