ZIFA lifts suspensions on Gumede ,Gorowa and others

ZIFA have lifted the suspensions handed to Ndumiso Gumede, Ian Gorowa, Nation Dube,Jerry Sibanda , Philani Ncube and Edzai Kasinauyo.

The decision was announced by ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa during a press briefing at the Rainbow Hotel in Bulawayo this morning.

Gorowa,Dube and Kasinauyo had been implicated in the Limpopo gate match fixing scandal but the case fell through at the courts after the judge dismissed the evidence presented as questionable.

Bulawayo City’s Jerry Sibanda and Philani Ncube were suspended after members of the club’s technical team attempted to fix a Premier Soccer League game against Border Strikers last season.

Gumede was suspended after ZIFA alleged he wrote to FIFA peddling falsehoods about a legitimate football leadership and seeking to dissolve a constitutionally elected Executive Committee.

However Peter Dube the current PSL chairman and Highlanders president will have to wait a bit longer with Chiyangwa saying a committee will review his case before making a decision.

ZIFA had suspended Dube claiming he interrupted formal proceedings during a ZIFA congress and attempted to incite chaos by standing up and addressing congress delegates without seeking requisite permission from the chair of the congress.
