Katsande: Kaizer Chiefs need to win all their remaining games

Willard Katsande believes Kaizer Chiefs need to win all their remaining ABSA Premiership games to win the league title.

Kaizer Chiefs meet log leaders Cape Town City this evening in a match that could either improve or derail the title ambitions of the two sides.

Kaizer Chiefs lie in third position with 45 points from 24 games a point behind Cape Town City who have played the same number of games. However second placed Bidvest Wits have 45 points as well and have two games in hand while defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns have 44 points and two games in hand as well.

Kaizer Chiefs were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Supersport United at the weekend leaving the league title as their only hope for silverware.

“We went straight back to the drawing board after the game on Saturday,” Katsande told the official club website.

“We speak in one voice, and that’s winning all the remaining six games of the league. Katsande admitted they were full aware of the threat posed by Cape Town City.

We know City very well after playing them twice this season,” comments Katsande. “They are a counter-attacking team and in that case it means we have to be disciplined to guard against their breaks.”
