Black Rhinos dismiss Dynamos

Dynamos suffered their third defeat of the season when they were beaten 1-0 by Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium.

The match was played under floodlights after Dynamos opted for a 7pm kickoff.  Dynamos created the early chances with Ocean Mushure coming close to opening the scoring in the 11th minute but his goal-bound effort was headed out by Sydney Linyama.

As the first half progressed the match became more evenly balanced. Just before halftime 23-year-old Cameroonian forward Christian Epoupa missed a great chance to put Dynamos in the lead when he skied his shot from inside the area.

In the 49th minute, Black Rhinos took the lead with Lot Chiwunga pouncing on a weak Elisha Muroiwa back pass before putting the ball between Mateyaunga’s legs to score.

Chiwunga could have doubled the lead in the 56th minute when he tapped in from close range but his effort was ruled out by the linesman for offside.

Dynamos pressed for the equaliser but Rhinos stood firm. In the 61st minute substitute Masimba Mambare almost made an immediate impact when his header went inches wide after an Ocean Mushure cross.

In the 91st minute, Mwerahari wasted Dynamos’ final chance to equalize when he shot over the bar in the box.

The result sees Rhinos notch up a 5th win which takes the army side second on the log standings, a point behind table toppers ZPC Kariba.
