Stix Mtizwa happy with win over Dynamos

Black Rhinos coach, Stix Mtizwa, has expressed delight after beating former premier league champions Dynamos away at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Thursday.

The mid-evening clash saw premier league returnees Black Rhinos beat the Harare giants 1-0 after a suicidal back pass by Dynamos and Warriors centre half, Elisha Muroiwa, was intercepted by forward, Lot Chiwunga, and buried behind goalkeeper Tonderai Mateyaunga four minutes after half time.

“I’m happy with the performance which my boys did (sic). We hope we continue progressing, as I said before [that] we are running form relegation. We still doing that. We hope we’ll keep on with the same momentum collecting those three points,” Mutizwa told journalists after the match.

“I thought my boys were possessing [the ball] a lot better than Dynamos. Dynamos were kicking [and] running. My boys were keeping the ball, passing it around.”

Despite Chimembere’s intentions to fight possible relegation early, the former CAPS United midfielder and retired Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Captain said if the team continues with their performance, Black Rhinos can possibly contend for the title.

“Yes, if we keep progressing we’ll be facing (sic) the championship. What I can say is I’m still going to talk to my boys not to get carried away, [to] keep the momentum until the end,” he added.

Mtizwa said Rhinos has depended on psyching players in their recent achievements which have seen them gain 17 points from eight games sitting on position two on the league table behind ZPC Kariba with 18 points.

“Our success started way in division one. We kept on psyching our boys that we can do it. We tell them that if you want to see the world keep playing football and you will see the world,” he said.
