CAPS United collapse in Tunisia

A poor defensive display saw CAPS United beaten 4-2 again by Al Ahli Tripoli in Tunisia.

CAPS United started the game brightly applying the early pressure before  Al Ahli Tripoli took charge.

In the 15th minute, the Libyan side took the lead with a towering header from Saleh Taher.

The lead only lasted four minutes as CAPS United equalised with a well-taken corner kick by Ronald Pfumbidzai.

CAPS United upped the tempo towards the end of the first half with Ronald Chitiyo wasting two good chances to score in close succession.

However, in the 42nd minute, Chitiyo put CAPS United in the lead with a good finish to put the Green Machine in the driving seat heading into the break.

A minute into the second half poor defending by CAPS United saw Al Ahli Tripoli hit back with Saleh Taher scoring his second of the evening to make it two all.

With CAPS United’s defence looking increasingly vulnerable Al Ahli capitalised and were soon back in the lead with Mohamed Ghanudi scoring the third.

Muaid Ellafi added a fourth for Al Ahli Tripoli to put the game beyond CAPS United.

They Libyan side continued to look for more goals and struck the post and Edmore Sibanda and the CAPS defence busy until the final whistle.

The result sees CAPS United remain bottom of Group B with three points from four games.
