Benyu stars on UEFA Champions League stage

Celtic coach Brendan Rodgers gave Kundai Benyu competitive action last in the second leg of their Champions League second round qualifier at home to the Northern Irish champions.

Benyu had turned out at Parkhead going into the match, with the youngster starting in a friendly against Lyon at the weekend.

But last night was his first competitive appearance – and it went well as the young Zimbabwean winger came on in the second half for a very impressive cameo.

Celtic fans didn’t take long to recognise the talent of their new acquisition and took to Twitter to heap praise

Celtic won the game 4-0 on the night thanks to a Scott Sinclair double and goals from Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong.

They’ll now play against Rosenborg in the next round after the Norwegian side beat Dundalk 2-1 after extra time in their qualifier last night.
