Erol Akbay unhappy with performance against Harare City

Highlanders head coach Erol Akbay couldn’t hide his frustrations following a disjointed performance against a charged Harare City at Barbourfields Stadium.

Speaking to the Chronicle after  the match Akbay accepted the draw and a point but added it was also “a poor performance” by his side.

“Harare City had more chances than us, as we gave them lots of space and the second ball belonged to them. I’m not happy at all with our performance because we made so many mistakes said Akbay.

“This (poor performance) is unacceptable. ”

Sometimes I don’t understand these players; we have short strikers yet they keep on playing high balls. My focus is now on the next game in which I hope we will go with better attack,” added Akbay.

The Harare side settled for a barren draw against despite creating numerous chances to score.
