South Africa based Zimbabweans round-up

The ABSA Premiership got underway on weekend with several Zimbabwean players in action for their respective clubs and we round up their performance during the opening round of the 2017/18 campaign.

Khama Billiat (Mamelodi Sundowns)

The attacker made a start in the Tshwane Derby against Supersport United and had a decent game. He helped Sundowns, to overcame their city rivals when he assisted the first goal from Hlompho Kekana.

Kuda Mahachi (Golden Arrows)

Mahachi made a start for Golden Arrows in an away draw in Cape Town. His highlight of the show came in the 65th minute but his effort went over the bar.

Willard Katsande (Kaizer Chiefs)

Katsande gave a fair contribution to  Chiefs’ away draw in Bloemfontein. He started in the first eleven and played the whole 90 minutes.

Kingstone Nkatha (SuperSport United)

Nkatha was an unused substitute for Supesport United in the derby clash against Mamelodi Sundowns. His team lost 2-0.

Onismor Bhasera (SuperSport United)

The fullback showed a good start to the season but unfortunately his contribution was in vein as his team lost in the season opener. He started the game and played to the end.

Tendai Ndoro (Orlando Pirates)

The tall striker came in as a substitute in 77th minute. However his presence on pitch was insignificantly felt as he only played 13 minutes. His team won the match 1-0

Eric Chipeta (Ajax Cape Town)

Chipeta was an unused substitute for Ajax Capetown in season opener against Golden Arrows.

Knox Mutizwa (Golden Arrows)The talisman who recently signed a permanent deal with Arrows did not feature in the game against Ajax but he was on the bench.

Evans Rusike (Maritzburg United)

The lanky striker had a frustrating 90 minutes in the Maritzburg away 2-0 win against Platinum Stars. His best effort on goal came on the hour mark but it was saved by the goalkeeper.

Gorge Chigova (Polokwane City)

The giant goalkeeper retained his jersey in a goalless draw against Baroka FC. He was rarely tested and never called in to serious serve during the game

Ovidy Karuru (Amazulu)

Karuru earned his team a penalty in the last minutes of the game against Free State Stars which was successfully converted. Amazulu won the match 1-0
