Dynamos were left to rue missed chances and failure to make the most of home advantage in the first leg as they were eliminated in the CAF Champions League by Congolese side AS Vita.

Dynamos were always going to face an uphill task to go through but things started well for the visitors as they managed to contain AS Vita.

However with half-time approaching a questionable penalty was awarded to AS Vita in the  after Partson Jaure was adjudged to have brought down a AS Vita striker.

Taddy Etekiama made no mistake putting the penalty past George Chigova in goals in the 38th minute.

The second half saw the Zimbabwean champions come out hungrier and seized good ball possession but were unable to break down AS Vita despite with the blunt strike force once again failing the team.

The AS Vita keeper was up to the task on a number occasions as he made crucial saves in the last 25 minutes to eliminate Dynamos.

The result means AS Vita will now meet South African giants Kaizer Chiefs in the next round with the winner proceeding to the mini-league phase of the competition.

For Dynamos it’s a return to focusing on the domestic competitions which start at the end of the month.
